Nov 02, Kathmandu - A team led by Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut has visited Bangladesh. A team from the Supreme Court has reached there at the invitation of the Chief Justice of Bangladesh, Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed.
The team led by Chief Justice Raut includes Senior-most Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla of the Supreme Court, Justice Binod Sharma and Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Bimal Poudel.
Justice Kumar Regmi has assumed the responsibility of the acting Chief Justice since Saturday. Justice Regmi himself is also going on a visit to China to participate in judicial programs. Justice Hari Phuyal will assume the responsibility of the acting Chief Justice from Monday.
The Chief Justice's team will remain in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, until next Tuesday and then return home. Until then, Justice Phuyal will assume the responsibility of the acting Chief Justice.
The Supreme Court has been damaged due to the vandalism during last month's Gen-Z protests. The inability to collect documents from the burned files and manage the courtroom has affected the hearings of cases. As a result, more than half of the judges have not been able to sit in the courtroom.
