Delayed Journey from Bardghat to Daunne: Rain and Road Repairs Cause Hour-Long Traffic Jam in Kavresthali

Nov 03, Kathmandu - Deep Kafle of Kawasoti said it took him nearly 12 hours to cross the Daunne from Bardaghat to Dumkibas on Sunday. This is a problem faced by many commuters like him due to continuous rain and road repairs throughout the day on Sunday.

Commuters have complained that the road to Daunne has become very difficult due to the recent rains, which have made the road muddy and slippery. It has been a long time since the Daunne section of the East-West Highway in Nawalparasi started to become difficult.

Although most of the work has been completed in other areas except Daunne since the start of the Narayangadh-Butwal road expansion work, the Daunne section has not been completed, making the journey difficult.

This problem exists in a section of about 14 kilometers in Daunne, which borders the two districts of Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) and Nawalparasi (Bardaghat West). While there is no major problem in the western section, the eastern section is difficult to travel due to dilapidated roads, said Kafle, a passenger.
