Nov 03, Kathmandu - A team from the Area Police Office Bhediya has taken two people into custody along with undisclosed amounts of money, a vehicle, and goods on the Gaighat-Kadamaha road section of the Sagarmatha Highway in Surunga Municipality-2, Saptari.
According to the police, at around 8:50 pm on Sunday, a team deployed under the command of Chief Police Inspector Purna Kumar Rai of the Area Police Office Bhediya, checked a Hilux vehicle (Bagmati Province 01-028 Cha 5008) heading from Kadamaha to Gaighat and seized Rs 2.3 million and various electronic devices. The police said that two people in the vehicle have been taken into custody and further investigation is underway.
Police said that Kiran Sitaula (28) of Damak-5, Jhapa, and Dhiraj Prasai (19) of the same place, who were travelling in the vehicle, were being questioned. From the vehicle they were travelling in, the police recovered 100 bicycle air pumps, 3 electric rickshaw motors, 31 electric bicycle batteries, 3 electric scooter batteries, 7 battery chargers, and 1 battery tester.
Police said that they have sent the cash, vehicle, goods, and individuals to the Area Police Office, Kadarbona, Saptari for necessary investigation.
