Second Malaria Case Confirmed in Tanahun!

Nov 03, Kathmandu - A second person has been confirmed to have been diagnosed with malaria in Tanahun. A 38-year-old man from Bhanu Municipality-11 has been confirmed to have malaria.

Sudip Kandel, Information Officer at the Provincial Public Health Office, Tanahun, informed that the youth who returned from peacekeeping missions has been confirmed to have malaria. Kandel said that health workers from the Provincial Public Health Office, Bhanu Municipality Health Branch, and Rupakot Health Post reached the community level on Sunday and conducted an active search and rescue program for the disease.

He said, "After returning from the peacekeeping mission, a malaria infection was confirmed during a test. He is currently recovering after receiving medical treatment." Earlier, the first malaria infection was seen in a person from Bandipur in the month of Shrawan.

Malaria is a disease caused by the bite of an anopheles mosquito. Symptoms of this disease include fever, headache, extreme fatigue, and excessive sweating.
