'Jerry On Top' Becomes Highest-grossing Film Of The Year

Nov 06, Kathmandu - The film 'Jerry on Top', which was released on Ashwin 31, has become the highest-grossing film of the year 2082. The film has collected over Rs 114.3 million at the domestic box office as of Wednesday.

The film 'Unko Sweater', which was released in the last week of Baisakh, collected a lifetime collection of Rs 114.1 million at the Nepali box office.

'Jerry on Top' achieved that figure on its 20th day of release, taking the number one spot on the list of highest-grossing films of the year.

The film, which took a leap in initial business due to the stardom of star actor Anmol KC, was established as a long-distance racehorse by the audience's 'word of mouth'. Directed by Suyog Gurung, 'Jerry on Top', a blend of social, family and love stories, has strongly presented the story of Mount Everest, which carries the identity of the country.

This film, which tells the story of mountaineering adventure, is garnering praise on social media for playing an important role in taking the country's tourism to the international level. The film stars Anmol KC, Aanchal Sharma, Jassita Gurung, Bhuwan KC, Kedar Ghimire, and Usha Khadgi in the lead roles.

Produced by Saroj Neupane under the banner of Ananya Films, the film is also garnering appreciation in the international market. Producer Neupane said that the film, which is being screened simultaneously in dozens of countries including Australia, America, Japan, and Europe, has so far collected 170 million rupees at the global box office.
