Nov 07, Kathmandu - Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) chairman Rabi Lamichhane, who was released from Nakhu Prison on Bhadra 24 during the Gen-Z movement, has released a 10-page-long statement to the Judicial Inquiry Commission.
He appeared at the commission's office in Singha Durbar for 8 hours on Kartik 19 and gave a statement, claiming that he was released based on the request of the prison administration.
Not only has he repeated the same issue over and over again, but he has also claimed that he will not leave the country without an official letter, according to the commission's officials.
The day after Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak resigned, the RSP workers went to Nakhu Prison and created a ruckus, demanding that Lamichhane be brought to the vacant post.
During the time, the RSP working chair DP Aryal, Hari Dhakal, Manish Jha and other leaders had reached Nakhu Prison. During his statement, Rabi said, "I was released because I was told that if I did not get out, other prisoners would not be safe."
The commission has already taken statements from the prison administration chief and others.
