Nov 08, Kathmandu - Turkey has announced plans to invest $80 billion in renewable energy by 2035 to address growing electricity demand. According to Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alperslan Bayraktar, the investment will increase the country’s wind and solar generation capacity to 120,000 megawatts.
The investment will focus on supporting domestic coal-fired power plants and improving grid infrastructure by building new high-voltage transmission lines and transformer substations. Turkey is also stepping up its efforts to develop nuclear energy.
