11th decision of RSP: 27 percent of youth under 40 years of age will be allowed to become candidates

Nov 09, Kathmandu - The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has ensured 27 percent representation for youth under the age of 40 in the upcoming House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21. The representation of youth in proportion to the population was ensured at an expanded meeting of the central committee held in Sauraha, Chitwan on Kartik 21 and 22.

Similarly, 10 percent representation has been ensured for citizens returning from abroad if they wish to become candidates. "By including the representation of Gen-Z's Spirit in the proportional closed list, 27 percent representation has been ensured for youth under the age of 40 based on their population ratio. Similarly, 10 percent representation has been ensured for Nepali candidates returning from the provinces," the party said in a statement released on Sunday.

Similarly, the scheduled general convention date has been postponed by six months due to the announcement of the election for members of the House of Representatives on February 21. The extended meeting, attended by 400 representatives, has drawn 11-point conclusions.

Acting President DP Aryal presented the political report, Vice President Dr. Swarnim Wagle presented the concept of the election pledge, General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti presented the organizational report, Joint General Secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya presented the candidate selection outline, and Secretariat member Deepak Bohara presented the signature report.

Dr. Toshima Karki had presented a different opinion regarding the party reform roadmap. Secretary of the Central Organization Department Shankar Shrestha, Chitwan, Jhapa, Rupandehi committees had submitted suggestions. Seven groups had given suggestions in all five reports.
