Nepal Education Ministry Warns Teachers and Staff Against Political Activities

Nov 09, Kathmandu - The Ministry of Education has issued a notice stating that teachers, professors, and employees working in government service are not allowed to engage in political activities and will be dismissed from their posts if found to be doing so.

The notice issued by the ministry states, "No professional act authorizes anyone working in such a service to engage in political activities other than negotiating professional rights and interests, and I would like to draw your attention to the fact that there is a provision for legal action, up to and including dismissal from office, if found involved in political activities."
