Nov 10, Kathmandu - Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa has said that elections are the only way to bring the constitution on the right path and there is no doubt about it.
General Secretary Thapa made this statement on social media Facebook as the party is signing a petition to restore the House of Representatives.
He expressed the view that a fresh mandate is the appropriate path rather than restoring the Parliament.
Thapa said that the Nepali Congress party had clearly presented this decision in the all-party meeting held in the presence of the Prime Minister, and informed that the Nepali Congress Central Working Committee had also made the same decision to go for the election.
He clarified that the confusion currently seen in the Nepali Congress Central Working Committee was not related to the Falgun 21 election. He said, ‘We are clear in this regard.’
General Secretary Thapa’s emphasis is on holding a party convention before the election.
‘Our stance is that only the policy and leadership of the Nepali Congress that comes from the convention will make us eligible to contest the election,’ General Secretary Thapa mentioned.
