Free Vaccination Campaign Against Cholera in Barahakshetra

Nov 11, Kathmandu - Barahakshetra Municipality has launched a free vaccination campaign across the municipality to control the disease known as cholera in cattle.

The campaign, which was launched on 23rd of Kartik with the slogan ‘Let’s vaccinate cattle against cholera for free, and make farmers economically prosperous by supporting the export of animal products,’ will be conducted in all wards of the municipality until 23 Mangsir, informed Mayor Ramesh Karki.

He said that the agriculture and animal husbandry sectors are an important basis of the city's economy and that the Khoret control campaign will have a positive impact on farmers' production growth, animal health protection, and income generation.

According to Bimal Adhikari, Chief of the Municipality's Animal Services Branch, the campaign will greatly help livestock farmers in the city in controlling the disease.

He said that this campaign was conducted with the support of the Veterinary Hospital and Animal Services Expert Center Inaruwa, the Directorate of Industry, Agriculture and Livestock Fisheries Development, Koshi Province, Biratnagar, and the organization of the Municipality's Animal Services Branch, Chakraghatti, Sunsari.
