Man Accused of Human Trafficking Apprehended by Police After Escaping Prison During Gen-Z Protest

Nov 11, Kathmandu - Armed Police have arrested a man from Lalitpur who escaped from detention in a human trafficking case during the Gen-Z Movement.

The suspect has been identified as 37-year-old Manas Singh Subedi of Mahabhara Municipality Ward No. 4 in Jhapa.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shailendra Thapa, he was detained on Tuesday from a café located in Ekantakuna, Lalitpur Metropolitan City-4.

Subedi had previously escaped from Nakhu Prison on Bhadra 24. The Armed Police Intelligence Bureau successfully located and apprehended him, subsequently handing him over to prison authorities for further processing.

This incident highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to track down individuals involved in serious criminal cases, even those who attempt to evade justice through protests or other means.
