KMC Demolishes Unauthorized Structures on Scout Land

Nov 13, Kathmandu - Kathmandu Metropolitan City has demolished structures built on Nepal Scout land after it was leased out for private use. The land, leased by Khadka Land Pvt. Ltd., owned by former Energy Minister and Nepali Congress leader Deepak Khadka, was used to construct these structures.

On Thursday, city police, along with bulldozers, arrived at the site. The action followed allegations of overdue rent payments for the land.

The Nepal Scout had issued a notice on Kartik 20, giving a seven-day deadline for rent payment. As the deadline passed without settlement, the metropolis proceeded with the demolition, citing unpaid rent and unauthorized construction.
