We will not go to the elections, the Home Minister betrayed us: Sudan Gurung

Nov 13, Kathmandu - Sudan Gurung, coordinator of the NGO 'Hami Nepal', has said that the interim government's Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal will not be able to fulfill the demands of 'Gen-Z'. Speaking to media persons at the Election Commission on Thursday (Kartik 27), he said that they are not fighting just to shift the 2084 election to 2082.

He announced that he would not participate in the election until his demands were met. He emphasized that the demands of the martyrs and injured should be met.

“We are not going to the election. We are not fighting to shift the 2084 election to 2082. So many people have been injured and martyred,” he said, “Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal betrayed us. Now we are going to the election, he says that the only target is the election, the injured should be addressed.”

He mentioned that the government is moving with the election as its destination. He demanded that the Gen-Z movement should get justice.

“Where will we go for elections until we get justice! Our commitments are fulfilled. We have not got justice. There is no hope that he (Home Minister) will deliver justice,” he said.

He objected to the false narrative that the country belongs only to the government. He said that every Nepali should come to build the country.
