Nov 17, Kathmandu - The verdict in the case against former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to be announced today. The court will pronounce its verdict on the ‘crimes against humanity’ case against her today.
The court is expected to pronounce its verdict at 11 am local time on Monday. The prosecution has demanded the maximum sentence, the death penalty, against the then Prime Minister Hasina and Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal. The verdict against Sheikh Hasina and three other accused will be broadcast live from the court.
The case against the then-Prime Minister Hasina and her aides is on charges of using excessive force and committing mass killings to suppress student protests last year. Hasila is currently living in India as an asylum seeker.
