Supreme Court Fully Reopens Today After Gen-Z Movement

Nov 17, Kathmandu - The Supreme Court has become fully operational from today. The court, which was partially operational after being set on fire following the 'Gen-Z' movement on Bhadra 24, has become fully operational from today.

The full court meeting of the Supreme Court on Kartik 21 had decided to resume regular operations of all services and cases that were safe from incidents of arson, stone-pelting, vandalism and looting from Mangsir 1.

"Since the case files have been saved from destruction, the cases that have yet to be heard will be heard regularly on the previously scheduled hearing date from Mangsir 1," the plenary meeting said. "This notice has been published for the information of the parties to the case and other concerned parties that other cases that have not been heard will be heard in accordance with the law."

The Supreme Court has announced that the registration and hearing of all cases and petitions, appeals, applications for retrial and review petitions, along with the resumption of services that were disrupted, will begin today. The physical infrastructure of the court was completely destroyed due to the Gen-Z movement and even the case files were burnt. The court's Information Technology Wing has 'recovered' the information system.
