RSP Appoints Acharya as Coordinator of HoR Election Candidate Selection Committee

Nov 20, Kathmandu - The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has appointed Joint General Secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya as the coordinator of the candidate selection committee for the House of Representatives elections.

Spokesperson Manish Jha said that the central committee meeting held on Wednesday appointed Acharya as the coordinator of the selection committee as he had efficiently completed the responsibility of preparing the draft outline for candidate selection.

"Joint General Secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya, who successfully completed the preparation of the draft framework for candidate selection for the House of Representatives member election, 2082, has been assigned additional responsibility and has been appointed as the coordinator of the candidate selection committee for the House of Representatives member election," Jha said.

Secretariat member Biraj Bhakta Shrestha, central members Dr. Chanda Karki and Rajan Gautam have been appointed as the members of the candidate selection committee. The provincial chairmen will remain as ex officio members.

In the case of Rupandehi-3, the RSP has decided to field Dr. Lekh Jung Thapa, who had already been selected, as the candidate. He was selected as the candidate in the by-election scheduled earlier. However, the House of Representatives was dissolved before the by-election was held.
