National Security Council to Hold Meeting Amid Rising Tensions in Simara

Nov 20, Kathmandu - The National Security Council is set to hold a meeting. The Ministry of Home Affairs has stated that Prime Minister Sushila Karki has called a meeting at the council secretariat in Singha Durbar on Thursday afternoon.

It is said that the meeting has been called to discuss the latest situation in Simara, Bara. Simara has been in turmoil since Wednesday morning.

The Gen-Z group had surrounded Simara airport after party general secretary Shankar Pokharel and leader Mahesh Basnet tried to go to Bara from Kathmandu for a CPN (UML) program.

In the meantime, there was a clash between UML cadres and Gen-Z leaders. Due to which, Simara has not become turbulent even today. Demonstrations were held in Simara on Thursday.
