US proposal to end Russia-Ukraine war not final: Trump

Nov 23, Kathmandu - US President Donald Trump has said that the US proposal to end the Russia-Ukraine war is not 'final'. Leaders from Europe, Canada and Japan said the plan includes key elements for a "just and lasting peace" but that "much more work is needed".

He expressed concern over proposals to change borders and reduce Ukraine's military.

On Sunday, security officials from Britain, France, Germany, the United States and Ukraine will meet in Geneva, Switzerland. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said of the plan: "Ukraine will have to give up its dignity or join hands with the United States."

In fact, Trump's peace plan is seen as biased towards Russia. Trump has given Ukraine until November 27 to accept the 28-point plan, and Russian President Vladimir Putin has said the plan could be the "basis" for a deal.

Asked whether the current draft was his final offer to Ukraine, Trump said, "It's not my final offer. We have to end this war, so we're working on it."
