Nov 23, Kathmandu - One person has been arrested in the murder of a transgender person near the new bus park in Tokha Municipality-9, Kathmandu.

A team from the Kathmandu District Police Range has arrested one person on charges of murder. A source from the range has confirmed the arrest. The identity of the person has not been revealed.

“We have arrested a suspect. Further interrogation and verification work is underway,” a source from the range said.

The body of a transgender person was found on the roadside near the bus park on Saturday afternoon. After receiving information about the body, a police team reached the spot and started an investigation. While sealing the spot, the body was found wrapped in a sheet.

The police had started an investigation based on the sheet. In the process, it was revealed which hotel the sheet belonged to. After that, the police investigated by examining the details of the person staying at the hotel and arrested one person.

The police have sent the body of the transgender person to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for a post-mortem. He has not been identified yet.
