Nov 24, Kathmandu - The government has decided to appoint Suman Raj Aryal as the Chief Secretary.
A cabinet meeting held today decided to appoint Aryal, who was the Defense Secretary, as the Chief Secretary, a minister informed. He was a senior secretary.
Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal is retiring on Mangsir 10 due to his age limit of 58 years. Therefore, Aryal has been appointed as Chief Secretary today.
Aryal, from Jorpati, Kathmandu, was promoted to Secretary on Magh 19, 2077. He joined the civil service on Baisakh 19, 2053 BS.
A master's degree in statistics, Aryal joined the Central Statistics Office as a branch officer and rose to the position of Director General in the same department.
Aryal has experience in the Ministry of Economic Planning of the Far West Province, the Office of the Comptroller General, and the Chief Secretary of the Koshi Province.
He has also worked in the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the National Planning Commission.
During his tenure in the Prime Minister's Office, he became the coordinator of the government's annual program formulation committee for the fiscal year 2080-81. He is also considered an efficient administrator in the civil service.
