Nov 28, Kathmandu - Prime Minister Sushila Karki has inspected the Nepal Army's headquarters, the Military Base.
During the visit, she, who is also holding the responsibility of the Defense Minister, has taken stock of the security preparations made by the army for the upcoming House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21.
During the visit, the army has presented a detailed briefing on the current security situation, major challenges and upcoming strategies.
Presentations were also made on topics ranging from voter security to analysis of sensitive areas, coordination mechanisms and how the army will be mobilized for election security.
Prime Minister Karki then said that the first responsibility of the government formed after the Gen-Z movement on Bhadra 23 and 24 is to restore peace and security.
She said that the government's main objective is to hold fair and fearless elections on the scheduled date. Expressing confidence that the army will successfully fulfill its assigned responsibility, she gave various instructions.
"Not a single drop of blood should be shed in the upcoming elections, not a single person should be injured," she said. She also reminded the army to work in a coordinated and error-free manner based on security sensitivity.
