Nov 30, Kathmandu - Four people have been killed in a shooting at a banquet hall in Stockton, California. The shooting occurred as family members were gathering for a meal.

According to the news agency AP, 10 people were injured in the incident. The injured included both children and adults. “Initial indications indicate that this may have been a targeted incident,” said Heather Brent, a spokeswoman for the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting took place inside the banquet hall at around 6pm local time on Saturday. The shooter has not yet been arrested. Local authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying him.

The incident is under investigation. San Joaquin County District Attorney Ron Freitas said at a press conference, “If you have any information about this individual, please contact us immediately. If you are this individual, please surrender immediately.”

The banquet hall where the incident occurred shares a parking lot with other businesses. Stockton is a city about 40 miles south of Sacramento.

Mayor Christina Fugazi said, “Families should be together, not in hospitals. We should be standing next to our loved ones and praying that they survive.” Officials did not provide further details on the conditions of the injured.
