Nov 30, Kathmandu - The Gen-Z movement that took place on 23 and 24 Bhadra had ousted CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli. The ousted UML has allocated a quota for youth under the age of 40 to be delegates to the 11th General Convention starting from 27th of Mangsir.
UML has selected representatives from all over the country for the 11th General Convention to be held from 27 to 29 Mangsir.
UML has ensured the participation of one youth representative under the age of 40 from every constituency. Accordingly, youth under the age of 40 have been selected as representatives for the General Convention from each constituency, sometimes unanimously, sometimes through competition.
This time, UML had imposed an age limit on its sister organization, ANNISU. When the age limit was imposed, many student leaders who were aspiring for the presidency became active in the politics of geography.
The then vice-president Narayan Gharti, who was aspiring for the presidency but left the organization due to the age limit, has been unanimously elected as a representative from the youth age group from Jajarkot.
Gharti has been unanimously elected as a representative from the youth quota from Jajarkot district, which has only one constituency.
Similarly, the then general secretary Naresh Rokaya, who left the student organization due to the age limit, has been unanimously elected as a representative from the general convention in the youth age group from Bajura.
Rokaya was also preparing for the ANNISU presidency. However, after the age limit was imposed, he left the student organization and joined the party's geography.
