Nov 30, Kathmandu - Ukraine has launched drone attacks on two oil tankers from the Russian "shadow fleet" moving through the Black Sea. The Ukrainian navy targeted the tankers, named Kairos and Viraat, in an attempt to undermine Russian oil exports to international markets, the BBC reported.
According to Turkish officials, both Gambian-flagged tankers were attacked while sailing near the Turkish coast. No details of casualties have been released so far.
The Russia-Ukraine war has been ongoing since February 2022, killing thousands and displacing millions. Although there have been signs of some diplomatic initiatives being taken recently under US mediation, the war has not been brought to a complete halt.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is leaving for the United States with top security officials to discuss a possible deal to end the war. The Ukrainian delegation is expected to hold high-level talks with US officials in Florida.
