Dec 01, Kathmandu - Starting now, vehicles bringing tourists from India and China will only need to pay the entry fee once at the border, eliminating the need for multiple payments. This decision was made during the 11th meeting of the Intergovernmental Finance Council held last Friday (Mangsir 12), chaired by Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal.
According to the council’s decision, vehicles entering Nepal to promote tourism from neighboring countries will pay a temporary customs fee at the border once, allowing for seamless travel within Nepal without incurring additional charges until a specified date.
Nepal receives the highest number of tourists from India and China, and the government hopes this move will encourage more visitors from these countries by making border procedures more traveller-friendly.
