Dec 01, Kathmandu - Google is building a new AI data center in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, in southern India. The investment will be in partnership with Adani Connects Pvt Ltd, Adani Group Chief Financial Officer Juginder Singh told Bloomberg. This will make Adani Group one of the major Indian partners of Google Campus, Singh said.
Earlier in October, Alphabet (Google) had announced a plan to spend $15 billion over five years to build a 1 gigawatt AI hub in Andhra Pradesh. According to Reuters, Google is currently preparing to invest about $85 billion to expand its data centers worldwide.
Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries has recently announced a plan to build a 1 gigawatt AI data campus in Andhra Pradesh by investing about $11 billion over five years in collaboration with Brookfield and American Trust Digital Realty. They are going to build an AI-native campus on about 3,000 ropanis in Visakhapatnam.
