Chitwan's Malan Scores a Half-century Against Janakpur

Dec 02, Kathmandu - Chitwan Rhinos' Dawid Malan has scored a half-century against defending champions Janakpur Bolts in the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).

Chitwan, who won the toss at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Tuesday, completed 50 runs in 38 balls. He hit two fours and four sixes.

This is Malan's first half-century in the tournament.

At the end of 12 overs of the ongoing match, Chitwan has scored 98 runs without losing a wicket. Malan has so far shared a 98-run partnership with another opener Arjun Saud. Arjun is playing on 46 runs.

Chitwan, who have won two games out of four, wants to strengthen their chances of making the playoffs by winning this game. Pokhara and Karnali will face each other in the second match at 4 pm.

This game is important for both teams to reach the playoffs. Pokhara, who have won only one game in four matches, will easily qualify for the playoffs if they win this game. For Karnali, this game is a 'do or die' situation.
