NEPSE Edges Down in Third Trading Day of the Week Amid Mixed Market Movements

Dec 02, Kathmandu - The NEPSE index closed down by a modest percentage on Tuesday, the third trading day of the week. The NEPSE index, which has been declining since Sunday, the first trading day of the week, has continued in the same direction today as well.

The NEPSE, which fell by 26.51 points on Sunday, fell by 4.28 points on Monday. The trading volume has also decreased compared to Monday. On Monday, shares worth 4.71 billion were traded, while today, shares worth 4.48 billion were traded. On Sunday, shares worth 7.8 billion were traded.

On Tuesday, 18.10 million 106 shares of 324 Scripps were bought and sold for Rs 4.48 billion 13.94 billion 149 thousand. Although the NEPSE index fell by a modest percentage point, shares of six companies traded at positive circuit levels.

Shares of Sagar Distillery, Swastik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha, Jhapa Energy, Mavilung Energy and Bungal Hydro traded at positive circuit levels. Investors in Green Ventures lost the most on the day. The company's shares fell by 9.85 percent.

Union Hydropower remained at the top in terms of trading value. The company's shares were traded worth Rs 310 million. While Mountain Energy traded shares worth Rs 220 million, Nadgi Group's shares were traded worth Rs 160 million, Green Ventures' shares were traded worth Rs 110 million, and United Modi Hydropower's shares were traded worth Rs 100 million.

Of the traded stocks, 125 stocks rose in value while 119 declined. The prices of 13 stocks remained volatile. While the sub-indices of 8 groups rose, five sub-indices showed negative growth.
