Dec 02, Kathmandu - An art and culture fair is set to be held in the Patan Durbar area of Lalitpur from Wednesday.
The Federation of Handicraft Associations of Nepal, in collaboration with the Lalitpur Metropolitan City-16 Ward Office, is organizing the fair, it was informed at a press meet organized on Tuesday. The Patan Museum Development Committee is playing a supporting role for the fair.
The fair will run for five days to promote handicrafts. Federation President Rabindra Shakya said that there will be around 21 canopies and 10 table stalls at the fair. According to him, the exhibition will feature various types of handicrafts along with jewellery used in various fairs.
Similarly, there is also a program to hold a mask exhibition in collaboration with Korea-based Imaco. The organizer has stated that 60 masks from Nepal and 40 from South Korea will be exhibited in the mask exhibition.
On the occasion, Nirmal Ratna Shakya, Ward Chairman of Lalitpur Metropolitan City-16, said that the fair was organized to promote handicraft entrepreneurs and local culture. The ward has allocated 800,000 rupees for the fair.
