Dec 04, Kathmandu - The Nepal Communist Party (UML) is set to mobilize 10,000 volunteers for the inaugural session of the upcoming 11th National Convention. The inauguration of the 11th National Convention of the UML is scheduled to be held on Mangsir 27 at Khullachaur in Sallaghari, Bhaktapur, and the closed session at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu.
According to Bhanubhakta Dhakal, coordinator of the Volunteer Mobilization Committee formed for the party's general convention, arrangements have been made to mobilize 10,000 volunteers as there will be significant public participation in the inaugural open session.
According to Coordinator Dhakal, there will be about 500 volunteers for the closed session of the general convention. He said that these volunteers have been demanded by various 24 mass organizations and various committees of the party. The National Volunteer Force (NVF) recently formed by the UML will also coordinate the volunteer work.
Meanwhile, a team including UML Deputy General Secretary and General Convention Public Relations Committee Coordinator Pradeep Kumar Gyawali inspected the square spread over an area of 108 ropani of Nepal Trust in Sallaghari on Wednesday.
Along with him, UML Central Publicity and Publication Department Chief Rajendra Gautam, Central Member Binod Shrestha, Bhaktapur District President Bachan Deuja, Vice President and Bagmati Province Health Minister Kiran Thapa, District Secretary Bishnu Tamang and others were present.
Coordinator Dhakal mentioned that the square has a capacity of about 200,000 people. According to him, volunteers have been deployed there to manage the stage, build necessary infrastructure including toilets. He informed that on the inauguration day, all the supplies coming from the east will be managed at the brick and tile factory in Jagati and vehicles coming from the west will be managed from Gatthaghar to Kamerotar area.
The general convention will have 2,400 organizers and elected representatives. The general convention will be held from November 11 to 12.
