Ishwor Pokharel's Team Reached Gundu and Held a Three-hour Discussion with Oli

Dec 04, Kathmandu - Leader Ishwor Pokharel's team, who is preparing for the presidency ahead of the 11th General Convention, has reached Gandu and met with Chairman KP Sharma Oli.

Along with Ishwor Pokharel, Ashtalakshmi Shakya, Yubaraj Gyawali, and Yogesh Bhattarai had reached Gundu. Sources have informed that the discussion on the general convention lasted for about three hours.

Senior Vice President Pokharel has announced that he will challenge Oli, who has announced that he will run for the presidency for the third time in the 11th General Convention. Team building is underway on both sides.

Oli has adopted a strategy of forming a team at the last minute and 'engaging' many leaders. Since Pokharel is also not openly supported by leaders who are waiting for an opportunity, the leaders on both sides have not yet opened up.

Oli has said that the general convention will end after he reads out his name. Pokharel's team, on the other hand, is working on a challenge to Oli with the support of former President Bidya Bhandari.

Former President Bhandari has been expressing dissatisfaction with the leadership after the UML did not grant her membership. She has also revealed that Oli is 'uneasy' with the polite agreement reached to make Ishwor Pokharel the unanimous president of the 11th general convention.
