Dec 04, Kathmandu - Bhatbhateni Supermarket, Nepal's largest retail chain, has officially reopened its main warehouse in Baluwatar after three months of closure caused by widespread vandalism, looting, and arson during the Gen–Z protest movement. The warehouse was reopened today following a ceremonial Rudrabhishek ritual.
The protest unrest severely damaged Bhatbhateni’s 12 stores across the country, resulting in an estimated loss of approximately 1.2 billion Nepali Rupees. The destruction included damaged infrastructure, storage systems, and inventory, which necessitated extensive reconstruction and repairs before the warehouse could resume operations.
Despite the significant financial setbacks, management accelerated efforts to restore service continuity. With the warehouse now operational, supply chains to affected stores are expected to gradually normalize, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services to customers.
