PM Karki and Ambassador Toru Discuss 70th Anniversary and Elections

Dec 05, Kathmandu - Prime Minister Sushila Karki held a courtesy meeting with the Ambassador of Japan to Nepal, Maeda Toru, today (Friday) at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar.

The meeting was a goodwill visit to discuss various aspects of the bilateral relationship, particularly in the context of celebrating the 70th anniversary of Nepal-Japan relations, according to Ram Bahadur Rawat, the Prime Minister's Press Coordinator.

Japan Pledges Election Support

During the discussion, Ambassador Toru commended the interim government's resolve to hold elections on time. He reiterated Japan's readiness to provide any necessary cooperation and support desired by the government to ensure the timely conduct of the polls.

Prime Minister Karki expressed her gratitude for the continuous assistance Japan has provided to Nepal in development and various other sectors. She also expressed confidence that this strong cooperation and goodwill between the two nations would continue in the future.
