Dec 05, Kathmandu - Ncell Foundation is set to distribute over 2,000 educational materials in exchange for fours scored in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) Season 2 matches played till Thursday.
According to the company, these materials will be provided to students studying in government and community schools, as part of its social initiative to connect cricket with the classroom and every four with a bright future.
This effective initiative, launched in collaboration with NPL last year, has been supporting students in government and community schools across Nepal.
The foundation has pledged to distribute 4 educational materials at each of the four locations of NPL Season 2.
In the NPL Season 2 matches played till Thursday, Mangsir 18, 90 players have hit a total of 510 fours, ensuring the distribution of 2,040 educational materials.
The top three players in the list of fours hitters is Adam Rossington of Pokhara Avengers with 27 fours, ensuring the distribution of 108 educational materials.
Lumbini Lions' D'Arcy Short is in second place with 19 fours and has contributed 76 educational materials. Similarly, Kathmandu Gorkhas' Ben Charlesworth and Sudurpaschim Royals' Binod Bhandari are in third place, hitting 17 fours each to ensure the distribution of 68 educational materials.
Each kit provided to the students will include a bag and essential materials, including a book-notebook, pencil, sharpener, eraser, etc.
“We would like to congratulate and thank the players who hit fours in the matches till Thursday. Since last year, we have been providing educational materials to students by connecting their passion for cricket with meaningful social work. We are confident that the remaining matches will be even more exciting, which will further expand the contribution to education, not just sports,” said Ncell’s Corporate Communications and Sustainability Director Bishakha Laxmi Khadka.
Last year, the foundation had committed to providing more than 2,612 educational materials from the 653 fours hit in the first season of the NPL.
