Nepal-Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce Officials Meet with Sri Lankan Ambassador Delpitiya

Dec 05, Kathmandu - Officials of the Nepal Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NSCCI) have met with Sri Lankan Ambassador to Nepal Ruwanthi Delpitiya.

The meeting held at the Sri Lankan Embassy in Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu was attended by Nepal Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NSCCI) member Dr. Rajesh Kaji Shrestha, President Bijay Shrestha, General Secretary Narendra Ballabh Pant, and member Kumar Dahal.

In this meeting, Ambassador Delpitiya expressed the view that business activities between the two countries will increase in the coming days. Discussions were held on the participation of a Nepalese delegation in the Industrial Expo to be held in Sri Lanka in June 2026. In the coming days, a similar expo will be organized in Nepal and a Sri Lankan representative will participate, said Bijay Shrestha, President of the Nepal Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce and Industry. During the meeting, issues including trade, investment, joint ventures, etc. were discussed between Nepal and Sri Lanka.

It is mentioned that the visit between the two countries will increase local and national economic activities and regular discussions can be held on markets, economic development initiatives, foreign trade and investment policies related to the two countries.

In addition, further discussions were held on trade, investment, services, business relations, exchange of visits and business groups, as well as potential destinations for trade promotion. Discussions were also held on the possibility of Sri Lankan Ambassador Delpitiya to Nepal as the chief guest at the upcoming general meeting of the Nepal Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NSCCI).
