Dec 07, Kathmandu - Pokhara Avengers have comfortably defeated Chitwan Rhinos by eight wickets in the Nepal Premier League (NPL). Chasing a target of 121 runs for victory in their final match of the league stage at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground on Saturday evening, Pokhara achieved the target in 19.4 overs for the loss of two wickets.
Adam Rossington played the highest half-century innings of 65 runs for Pokhara. Adam was named Player of the Match. Similarly, Arjun Kumal scored an unbeaten 43 runs. In bowling, Chitwan's Rijan Dhakal and Saif Zaib took one wicket each.
Earlier, Chitwan, who batted first, scored 120 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Dev Khanal scored the highest score of 35 runs for Chitwan. Similarly, Alpesh Ramjani scored 33, Kushal Malla scored 23 and Saif Jaif scored 17 runs.
In bowling, Pokhara's Dhananjaya Laxman took three wickets and Bipin Khatri, Rohit Chand and Kiran Thagunna took one wicket each. Both Chitwan and Pokhara have been eliminated from the group stage. Pokhara, with 6 points, remained in fifth place. Similarly, Chitwan, with four points, is in sixth place.
