Dec 07, Kathmandu - The Home Ministry has formed an investigation committee under the coordination of Suresh Panthi, Joint Secretary and Head of the Policy, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, to investigate the truth and facts in the incident where a young woman from Badhaiyatal-4, Bardiya, was forced to commit suicide after not being granted citizenship.

Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal was directed by the Prime Minister yesterday to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident. Taking a decision at the secretary level on Sunday, an investigation committee has been formed to investigate the incident, under the coordination of Joint Secretary Panthi, along with the Ministry's Deputy Secretary Kulshekhar Aryal and one other member.

The committee has been ordered to conduct a fair and factual investigation into the incident and submit a report within five days.
