Four Nepalese have been Killed in Fire that Broke out at Goa Nightclub on Saturday (with names)

Dec 08, Kathmandu - Four Nepalese have also died in a fire that broke out at a nightclub in Arpora, Goa, India, on Saturday night. A total of 25 people have died and six others have been injured in the incident.

The list released by the Goa government states that 20 of the dead in the incident were club employees, and four of them were Nepalese citizens.

According to Hindustan Times, the Nepalese who died in the fire are Churna Bahadur Pun, Bibek Katwal, and Sabin and Sudeep. They are said to be from Nepal, but their addresses have not been disclosed yet. The Goa government has said that arrangements will be made to send their bodies to Nepal.

According to the official, the fire started when an electronic firecracker was set off during a dance party on Saturday night. The fire became dangerous as the fire brigade could not reach the venue due to the narrow road.

Most of the people in the nightclub were found trapped on the ground floor and in the kitchen, officials said. Some died of burns and others from smoke inhalation.

A preliminary investigation into the incident found that the club did not comply with required safety standards and was operating illegally.

Goa Police have arrested four people, including the general manager and employees of a nightclub. A case has been registered against the owners, Saurabh Luthra and Gaurav Luthra. Three senior officials of the Goa government have also been suspended for allegedly granting permission to operate the nightclub illegally.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has announced a compensation of Rs 500,000 for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured. He also announced an audit of clubs and crowded places operating without permission.

According to eyewitnesses, the club was very crowded and the entire structure was destroyed within minutes of the fire. The fire also caused a gas cylinder to explode.
