We do not agree with active monarchy: Dhaval Shamsher Rana

Dec 09, Kathmandu - Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) General Secretary Dhaval Shumsher Rana has said that an active monarchy is no longer possible in Nepal.

Addressing a party meeting in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Rana said that they do not agree with an active monarchy. He said that a constitutional monarchy is necessary in Nepal. He also said that they have clarified this by talking to the former king.

He said that the children of Nepalis will run the country and the monarchy will play the role of guardian. "Many friends talk about active monarchy. We do not agree with that. It is no longer an active monarchy. A constitutional monarchy is necessary," Rana said, "I have also clarified this by asking the (former) king. The children of Nepalis will run the country. The monarchy should play the role of guardian. We should be clear on this issue."

Rana said that there is no need for elections now. "This election is not needed now. Elections cannot provide a solution for the country now. We need to move the country forward with new thinking," Rana said.

He said that if we cannot keep all Hindus, monarchists, anti-republicans, and anti-federalists together with a big heart, it will be difficult to turn the values ​​carried by the RPP into reality.
