Government Forms Commission to Review Implementation of SC Orders on Transportation

Dec 09, Kathmandu - The government has formed a commission of inquiry headed by Deepak Subedi and comprising Sharad Adhikari and Yogendra Nath Karmacharya to investigate the status of implementation of Supreme Court orders related to the transport sector.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Monday (Mangsir 22), said Jagadish Kharel, the government's spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology. According to him, the government has decided to terminate the agreement between Nepal and Mauritius on double taxation avoidance and prevention of financial fraud.

Similarly, it has decided to transfer four joint secretaries of the Nepal Judicial Service, Justice Group. The government has decided to fix the minimum purchase price of sugarcane produced by farmers at Rs 620 per quintal for the fiscal year 2082/83 and to maintain the subsidy amount for sugarcane farmers at Rs 70 per quintal.
