Dec 09, Kathmandu - The American Chamber of Commerce in Nepal (AmCham Nepal) has organized the ‘Scaling Innovations’ Dialogue with the aim of enhancing partnership in the technology sector between Nepal and the United States. The event was organized by AmCham Nepal’s member company Adex TechBeam as part of its 19th Learning Series with the aim of connecting the technology ecosystem with business platforms.
On the occasion, experts presented their views on the topic of ‘Scaling Ethical and Innovative AI Adoption in Global Markets’ and stressed the need for innovators from both countries to expand collaboration. At the event organized in collaboration with AmCham Nepal and Adyanta Advisory, ADEX-TechBea Co-Founder Baibhav Khadka presented on the transformation that the use of AI can bring to the technology industry. He stated that the global market is rapidly becoming AI-centric and believed that if Nepal can seize the opportunities along with the challenges, it can be established as an ethical and innovative AI hub.
Mike Harker, Public Affairs Chief at the US Embassy in Nepal, said AI innovation is an important foundation for strengthening the Nepal-US tech partnership. Stuti Basnyat, Managing Director of Aadyanta Advisory, said the platform was built with the goal of connecting Nepali founders with US platforms, investment channels, and international opportunities.
During the dialogue, speakers emphasized that Nepal should also focus on AI-related skill development and industry expansion as AI competition intensifies in the global market. They emphasized that necessary steps should be taken to expand the capital of startups and scale-up companies by branding Nepal as a ‘tech and AI hub’.
Participants also discussed the potential of Nepal to become a ‘boutique talent hub’ for the US.
Amir R. Thapa, Executive Director of AmCham Nepal, said that the programs organized through the Member Learning Series have directly enhanced Nepal-US commercial cooperation. According to him, such initiatives will lay the foundation for building shared economic prosperity between the two countries.
Adex International, a cloud consulting and tech company founded by Nepali youth, has been fully operational since 2022. The company is providing services such as multi-cloud migration, security, cost management, automation, and building modern IT infrastructure. The company has been working with organizations including Khalti, Sanima Bank, Upay, NIC Asia Capital, etc. Adex has created more than 60 jobs.
