Dec 11, Kathmandu - US President Donald Trump has officially launched the 'Trump Gold Card' scheme, which will grant US visas to foreigners who pay at least $1 million.

"This card will provide a direct path to citizenship for all qualified and verified individuals who purchase it," Trump wrote on his social media account, Truth Social, on Wednesday. "Very exciting! Our great American companies will now be able to retain their invaluable talent."

The Trump Gold Card was announced earlier this year.

The "Gold Card" is a US visa. It is granted to people who can demonstrate "significant benefit" to the country.

The plan comes as Washington tightens its immigration policies, including increasing fees for work visas and deporting undocumented immigrants.
