You Can Now Edit Videos from the Google Photos App

Dec 11, Kathmandu - The Google Photos app has been updated with a number of new features designed to make video editing and creating highlight reels easier. The features added in this update, released on December 9, will allow users to use ready-made templates, add music, and customize text directly within Google Photos. This redesigned editor will now also be used as the default video editing tool on Android.

If you’re not sure where to start, templates provide pre-defined formats, with cuts that match the built-in music, text, and soundtrack. This feature is currently being rolled out on Android.

To use this feature, go to the ‘Create’ tab and select ‘highlight video.’ Then, choose a template and select the photos and videos you want to include in your video. Photos will automatically create a shareable video that matches the beat of the music.

The new video editor is available on both Android and iOS. It's faster and easier to use than ever before. It includes a 'universal timeline' that supports multi-clip editing and an 'adaptive canvas' for easy editing.

You can open a video from your gallery and tap 'edit' to start editing it. A great video is made even better with the right music. Now you can browse Google Photos’ music library and choose the right soundtrack to bring the right vibe to your highlight video.

To do this, browse the Photos music library in Editor mode and select a suitable track for your Highlight video. This feature is available on both Android and iOS.

On Android, you can add a context or creative touch to your Highlight videos by adding stylish text overlays. To do this, customize the text with new fonts, colors, and backgrounds to make your message stand out.

The redesigned editor serves as the default video editor on Android for quick and easy editing of individual video clips. With the help of the new editor, you can even add music and text to the same video clip for a more custom look.
