Dec 12, Kathmandu - Three people died on the spot in a jeep accident in Palpa. Eight more were injured.
According to DSP Hom Prakash Chaudhary, Palpa District Police Spokesperson, three people died on the spot in the accident.
The identity of the deceased is yet to be revealed.
The jeep (Lu 1 Ja 3908) of Lekbesi Yatayat, which was heading from Arunkhola to Rampur in Palpa, fell about 600 meters below the Mityal-Arunkhola road near Ghumti in Mityal Chiurebas, Nisdi Rural Municipality-4.
Police said that eight injured people were rescued and taken to the hospital.
The cause of the accident is not yet known. Some passengers had jumped from the roof. They said that the vehicle fell from the cliff while they were stopping the vehicle on the uphill and disembarking the passengers.
According to the police, all three deceased are women. Their identities are yet to be revealed. Five of the injured are undergoing treatment at Madhyabindu Provincial Hospital, Danda, Nawalpur, and three at CM's Hospital, Chitwan.
