Dec 13, Kathmandu - CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has claimed that his party will continue to stand firm no matter how many attacks it suffers. Addressing the inaugural session of the 11th General Convention of the CPN-UML in Sallaghari, Bhaktapur, Chairman Oli alleged that the Gen-Z movement is a well-planned conspiracy to reduce democracy to a void and make the country incapacitated.
‘Our politics should not only be for us, but also for world peace and global equality and human rights. We speak of the independence and rights of the country, some do not like it and we are attacked.’ He said, ‘UML will continue to stand firm no matter how many attacks it suffers.’
He also said that the Sallaghari field is responding to their loyalty to the country and the people, their determination and commitment to development and good governance.
‘The Gen-Z movement was a well-planned conspiracy to nullify democracy and make the country incompetent. There was infiltration in that program.’ He said, ‘A tragic and unimaginable situation was created in the Gen-Z movement due to elements inciting violence. I pay my heartfelt tribute to the civilians and security personnel who were shot and attacked by the chaotic mob.’
“Friends, the then Home Minister resigned on the same day, taking serious note of the tragic consequences of the so-called peaceful protest on Bhadra 23 turning violent.” He said, “A probe committee was formed under the leadership of a former judge to investigate the incident in the cabinet meeting on the same day.”
He argued that although the government was serious and sensitive to the unusual situation at that time, those steps were not enough for the elements that were attacking the state.
“They needed a finger to exploit the country.” He said, “As a result, the country had to suffer the terrible day of Bhadra 24.”
