Turkey Expresses Concern Over Missile Attack on Ukrainian Cargo Ship at Chornomorsk Port

Dec 13, Kathmandu - Turkey has expressed concern following a missile strike on a civilian vessel owned by Turkey at Ukraine's Chornomorsk port on Friday.

There have been no reports of human casualties in the incident.

According to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the crew and personnel have been evacuated, and no Turkish citizens are reported to be injured.

The Turkish Consulate in Odessa, which is overseeing the situation, has stated that they are monitoring the situation and providing assistance.

Turkey has also reiterated its concerns over the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, highlighting the growing tensions in the Black Sea region.

The government has called for measures to prevent escalation, including safeguarding navigation security and protecting energy and port infrastructure from targeted attacks.

No immediate comments have been received from the Russian side.
