European Union Tightens Immigration, Plans to Establish 'Return Hub'

Dec 14, Kathmandu - The European Union (EU) has decided to tighten its policy on the return of migrants after a crackdown on illegal immigration and the rejection of asylum applications.

EU interior ministers from member states met in Brussels last week to back major changes to the policy.

The new package has been approved. It also supports the idea of setting up so-called ‘return hubs’ outside the EU’s borders, where refugees who are not allowed to stay in Europe would be sent.
