APF Defeats Karachi in SAFF Women's Club Championship

Dec 14, Kathmandu - APF Club has strengthened its chances of playing in the finals by defeating Karachi FC in the SAFF Women's Club Championship, finishing in the top 2. APF Club defeated Karachi FC 1-0 in the match held at the Dashrath Stadium in Tripureshwor. Rashmi Kumari Ghising's goal in the 52nd minute was the decisive one.

Karachi had their first chance in the 30th minute. Eve Lawrence Berry's shot from outside the penalty box went over the bar. Four minutes later, Saru Limbu's effort from about 22 yards out was off the post. In the 44th minute, Karachi got a chance to score when Nepal's defensive line made a mistake. Mohamud Jrebah took control of Hira Bhujel's missed pass inside the penalty box.

Her close-range shot was saved by APF goalkeeper Anjana Rana Magar. In the first half's extra time, APF's long-range shot was stopped by Karachi goalkeeper Giana Jibhraj. Renuka Nagarkoti's shot from 22 yards was unsuccessful. With this, the first half ended in a goalless draw. APF took the early lead in the second half. APF took the lead in the 52nd minute through Rashmi's header. She scored the goal after Renuka's cross from the left side.
