Dec 15, Kathmandu - The government has appointed Prakash Kumar Shrestha as the vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission.
The cabinet meeting held on Monday decided to appoint Shrestha as the vice-chairman of the Planning Commission, said government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel.
According to him, Prof. Dr. Suniti Shrestha has been appointed as a member of the commission.
It has been decided to abolish the practice or system of affixing postal stamps as IT stamps for the authorization of papers in the process of service delivery, except as provided in the prevailing law.
The government said that since November 9, 2016, Nepali or Indian citizens have made arrangements to import Indian rupee 200 and Indian rupee 500 notes issued from India to Nepal and take them from Nepal to India up to a limit of Indian rupee 25,000 per person.
Minister Kharel said that it has been decided to form a high-level political dialogue committee to hold talks with various political parties and stakeholders.
The dialogue committee will be coordinated by Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Anil Kumar Sihna, with Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel as a member, while the Prime Minister's Chief Political Advisor Ajaybhadra Khanal will be a member.
